Once again, we had the pleasure of spending a meaningful and enriching evening together at the Mihály Munkácsy Hungarian House, at an event jointly organized by the Mihály Munkácsy Hungarian House and the Mukachevo Hungarian Society.

Following a brief introduction to the event, Pál Popovics welcomed the audience. This was followed by blessings from István Pogány, a Roman Catholic parish priest, and Dániel Gulácsy, a Reformed pastor.

The evening’s special guest, Béla Popovics, an art history and literature teacher and local historian, took the audience on a journey in the footsteps of Odysseus. His engaging, interactive, and informative presentation was enriched by photographs of the places visited, while Márta Palojtay’s readings of poems and literary excerpts added a special touch to the evening. The experience culminated in a piano performance by Béla Popovics.

Following the presentation, Consul Dr Ferenc Papp, representing the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod, shared his thoughts and expressed his gratitude for such a meaningful evening.

The programme concluded with an informal agape reception, providing an opportunity for conversation and sharing the evening’s experiences. On behalf of the organisers, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the refreshments by bringing delicious treats or making donations!

It was wonderful to see so many people gathered together and to experience such a warm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere, despite the large audience.

We would like to thank the speaker, all the contributors, and every participant for helping us make this occasion truly memorable!
