Opening of Okszana Csepeli’s Solo Exhibition

We opened the 50th exhibition of the Munkácsy Mihály Hungarian House in a ceremonial and intimate atmosphere, filled with genuine warmth and a sense of home.

On this occasion, visitors are welcomed by the solo exhibition of Okszána Csepeli entitled “From Home to Home.” The exhibition invites viewers on a special inner journey, exploring the themes of home, roots, and belonging through subtle emotional and conceptual layers.

The exhibition primarily features non-figurative oil paintings that convey moods, inner states, and emotions. The works are characterized by calmness, harmony, and clarity, offering space for the viewer’s own thoughts and feelings. A unique aspect of the exhibition is that, alongside the oil paintings, visitors can also see the artist’s illustrations created for children’s publications, revealing a more playful and direct side of her work.

At the opening, Director József Tarpai and Consul Bence Gombor greeted the audience, further enriching the message of the evening with their thoughts. The consul’s words resonated beautifully with the title of the exhibition: “Those Hungarians who move away from here never leave Transcarpathia in spirit—only in their physical being.”

Afterwards, the artist herself spoke, expressing her deep gratitude and joy to all those who honored this special occasion with their presence.

The official part of the evening concluded with a musical performance by Márk Dzsátálov, providing a worthy and atmospheric closing to the opening.

At the end of the event, we raised a toast together to the success of the exhibition, accompanied by friendly and informal conversations.
