Béla Erdélyi Memorial and Creative House
Visit the museum and studio set up in the reconstructed family home of Béla Erdélyi, one of the region’s most famous and respected painters.
The Story Behind Its Creation
The Establishment of the Museum and Creative House
In 2019, Zahid Finance Group Ltd. purchased the former residence of painter Béla Erdélyi from his relatives, Tibor Villasek and his family, as part of the Hungarian House Program funded by the Hungarian government, with the aim of establishing a creative house.
Subsequently, Attila Kopriva, president of the Association for the Preservation and Development of Art and Culture in the Carpathian Region, developed the concept for the renovation of the Erdélyi House. Based on this, the Arhbudkonzul design office prepared the detailed planning documentation. Accordingly, renovation work began in May 2021 and was completed in the spring of 2022.

The Story Behind Its Creation
The Establishment of the Museum and Creative House
The completed residence now houses a permanent exhibition featuring the works and personal belongings of Béla Erdélyi. Guest rooms were created in the converted attic, currently accommodating Ukrainian artists and their families who have fled the war. The creative house also includes a spacious studio, developed by expanding the painter’s former workspace. Through its visitor-friendly cultural activities, the house aims to become an integral part of the region’s artistic life and to serve as a hub for artistic and cultural collaborations.
